TRYING To Repair My Aiwa CS-600U

As of 7:30 PM Eastern Time -- over an hour and fifteen minutes ago, it seems -- I took out what seem to be the seven screws that fasten the front and the rear panels of my Aiwa CS-600U. Six of the screws are external, part of the perimeter of the lower 70% or so of the rear panel of the CS-600. The seventh screw is from the lower centre of the battery bay. However, the front and rear panels aren't coming apart for access to the interior. I have no experience in opening or repairing...Read More...

Aiwa cs-880

Hi all, My disc's turned up today for the repair of my passive. Bought a 1mm and a 2mm thick aluminium disc. Waiting for the foam. After advice on the forum, I purchased a rubber and a foam surround. Once they arrive I will have a play to see what works best. Will start with the 1mm disc and rubber surround, I have foam to make the backing on the disc. Also, the replacement belts arrived too. Going to have a look at the deck this evening, I gather this isn't going to be easy as the record...Read More...

I am not so lucky as boomboxfella deech, but I can't complain about some great finds in the wild. Yet, despite my efforts, so far I have been unable to find a box I really want in my collection. The fact is, the more I think of it, the more I realize that I probably got the imprinting from a break-streetdance I witnessed about two decades ago in a foreign country. Guess which box was providing the soundtrack? Of course, the one that is nowhere to be found except in that country. So I dreamt...Read More...

I havent seen one of these since I was a kid and just happened across one on ebay for $39 USD! This thing is Mint! 1985, I think. These came in a few different colors Red, Black and Silver. There is another variation without the 3 band EQ Model M 7735. Both models have line IN and OUT! Feature packed for such a tiny box and lots of chrome, too! I haven't received it yet, so I'll post some of my own pics when I get it! (I don't think I can post the pics from eBay)Read More...

Panasonic RX C20 one Deep mini!

2channelhero
My favorite Panasonic mini! Deep body with deep bass! (at lower volume) This unit is great for good sounding ambient music. Full logic control tape deck with Dolby and Metal/cro2 ability. Mine still has the sticker on the tape door! Not enough photos of this unit on here so here's a few more of this timeless classic!Read More...

Clarity that'll knock your socks off (Video Link)

Transistorized
Sitting in my Office listening to the M90. Popped in a tape and decided to record it in action with my cell phone. Little did I know it actually records in stereo and sounded fairly neat. Decided to upload and post for the crowd who would enjoy it the most. To avoid copyright issues and due to the size of HD videos I've used my personal Dropbox account. Even if you do not have a dropbox account you can still view the video by clicking No Thanks....continue to view at the bottom of the dialog...Read More...

Panasonic RX DT75 Woofer Replacement

I'm new to this forum, but have been researching this topic for a few days now and haven't found any decent answers or suggestions. I've got an RX DT75, Panasonic, in solid shape but like many of these units the woofers have started to crack. From what I understand it isn't possible to repair the foam .. it has a particular swirl design, the speaker is no longer available, and there are no suggested replacement parts. I read of one work-around by a guy in the UK, I believe, who used some...Read More...

Hi, I'm from Croatia, I am here to find some nice peaces of equipment. At home I have JVC KD-V6, Telefunken STS-1, Philips CD-616 with modified op. amp (FET instead of serial op.amp.). Previously I had Celestion 3's which in combination with Yamaha transistor amp and modified crossovers played..stunning. After I sold Yamaha I bought Marantz PM-66 and B&W 602..boy, what a dissapointment (well, two chairs were stands). I moved back to my modified Celestions and bought some decent stands.Read More...
