Show your walkman in your vacation!

Hello guys, I went to the beach and I took my beloved Super-DD9 with me. Since last year, I decided to take my walkman and tapes on holidays, rather than using my phone or my laptop. I enjoy listening to my tapes far more than streaming/digital files. Now this is my DD9 with a tape with some hard rock that I love and my BOSE AE2 headphones. I took utmost care to not let the sand touch the player (by putting it into a zipped plastic bag) but for the photo I had to take it out ;-) Do you have...Read More...

G'day folks!

MOGEZART
Hi everyone, I've almost no experience in electronics yet, so I'm hoping that joining this community will be a big help along my path of discovery. Today I picked up a SANYO M9716F that appeared to be in fairly good condition, but when I plugged it in nothing happened. I disconnected the speakers to test them out on another player and was pleased by their sound quality. I then decided I would like to try to fix the SANYO and possibly continue on to restore the many awesome retro and vintage...Read More...

New to the forum

So I was told maybe I should introduce myself since I'm new to the forum. Well, I'm not sure where to start. I'm 41 years old, married, with one kid. I love 1980's tech and I run a fairly popular youtube show called "The 8-Bit Guy" which focuses on older technology. I've never done a boombox in an episode but I'm wanting to include some of them in future topics. I've been trying to find a good, small cassette deck boombox with RCA line inputs and support for metal tapes. I have a variety of...Read More...

Need recommendations for Boombox with Line-In

I need an 80's style boombox with a cassette player. It needs the following features: small size (baby boombox) RCA line input jacks support for recording Metal CR02 cassette tapes I just bought a Panasonic RX-F10 from ebay that seemed to fit the bill but the cassette deck is having problems and I can't seem to fix it after 3 days of trying to diagnose it. It works intermittently, so that's why it is hard to troubleshoot. It also turns out this model is pretty rare and it is hard to find any...Read More...
