I needed to share this unique mono made from Crown
which i found today in a fully working condition.
I am sure a lot of you will find it ugly and i can understand
that this little fella is not everybodys cup of tea but for me
from the moment i saw it i had to have it.
Its the mono Crown CRC-464. Pretty good for a mono of this
size and has an auxiliary in what more can you ask from a mono?
You can take it with youpretty much anywhere which is
so handy. After all this is what S2GO motto stands for eh? Only this time its
    Mono2Go !

What a beautiful VU meter, this box is full of surprises. When I was a kid I used to think that Crown was somehow a "cheap" brand. Yet this is a relative category; I have seen Crowns from the 1970s that are built like tanks and ooze quality everywhere.

The CRC-464 is in solid state, so to speak. Also, it looks very original to my eyes. I love the red & blue keys, which together with the red & green meter & the red & yellow radio scale create a little peace rainbow.

What else should we ask of a boombox2go, either mono or stereo, I wonder? :)

    Not ugly at all! :nodding:
Very nice and interesting Mono machine from 70s, with nonstandard layout design - do like such types!
Thank you for sharing, man! :)

I'm liking the right hand side of it with the vertical tuner dial and the angled vu meter

The styling is just started to go away from the 1970s "Military Style"
Given the craze for G shock watches I am surprised that hasn't come round again

I wonder if there was a tape only equivalent. To me it looks as if the designer took a mono tape recorder
and stuck a Tuner on the side. Interesting though.

@Northerner and @T-ster your comments about the angled VU vertical tuner and the quirkiness and
@samovar your comment about the colours were exactly my thoughts when i first saw it out there !!:)
The non standard layout design @Mystic Traveller was what caught my attention.
I must say that the ''waffle'' style speaker grill adds to its appeal .
Plus as @sotza said it is in great condition which is always welcomed .
@Radio Raheem I still cant believe that people throw away as garbage such little diamonds
thats why i am uncurable. This one has such a nice sound and the aux in that it beats me to
see those being treated as trash. I must save at least those that worth it. @Longman your observation that looks
like the designer stucked a tuner at the tape recorder is not far from the truth!
Thanks all of you guys for your warm comments.
I needed to save this Solid State Crown :):D
