Hi all! I'm from France and lately I wanted to check again the analog feeling of vynils and cassetts. :)

Maybe it is not the best place to post/ask this, but does anyone know where I can best service a Sony Walkman DD 33 and a DD 9? The DD 33 has the issue with the cranking noise, and on both the left channel sounds louder (on the DD 9 only on the rw play). Plus that the DD 9 on one way (fw play) the sound lightly doubles a bit.

    Cheers!

dottor walkman is the only guy we all use, but be prepared for a long wait (years) as everybody wants him. You can send dottor walkman a PM from this site.

The only other people i use are Galaxy Service in London www.galaxyrepairsandspares.com

There should be more technicians out there, beside the dottore and Marian. Here in Barcelona is Sergi and I'm sure in UK, Germany and other countries should be more...
I suggest making a list of certified technicians by countries. I can make and update it.
If you post or send the info by private message to me, I can make it.

Dr Walkman is an excellent technician, though it has a particular way to work, very slowly, due to his other work and personal circumstances.

If you want the best of the best performance and are able to wait for long, it's highly recommended. But if you don't need such performance or don't want to wait, there are other also good options out there.

Ok, I've created a new sticky thread for that list.

Can you guys provide more info about them?
    • what can they repair
    • what is they specialized in
    • how was your experience with them and
    • how can them be contacted.

I have been going to them for years and had nothing but good service from them, their work is always guaranteed.

Just look on their website for what they do, you can always call them and get quotes over the phone if possible.

The last person I sent to them was another member from this site, he sent 2 Walkman for repair. The fixed one properly but the second one they fixed but they were not 1oo% happy with the fix so they only charge for one.

    Number on the site www.galaxyrepairsandspares.com

Paul Carrington, who is now based in Ireland, is an expert at fixing/servicing the WM-D6 and D6C too.

I would like to find someone in Australia but don't think there are any. I'm waiting (we all are :) ) for Marian to finish up the DD center gear so I can send him a few DD's

    Hello Bocanila
i faced a very similar issue a few weeks ago.
i suggest you contact frblaze (Boris). He is active on the forum, has restored quite a few walkmans of which he has a significant collection. More importantly in your case, he is based in Paris 9.
He has fixed my old DDII and still has my F5 (waiting for capacitors)
    bon courage
