Hi all, in my search to find a specific part for a wm-50, I’ve found many models with this part: 10DA8074-41DB-4577-B32D-B67958D822A8.jpeg

What I’m thinking is, there are many models with this part. It has the gear built into the back of it, the face is a flash design element but the revers (you can see the gear teeth in black) e is the rewind gear mechanism. Are all of these identical? So I could for example buy a broken wm-f15 and use this part in a wm -50?

    several models share this part
As far as I know the forward wheel and reverse wheel might look same from this view but might look different from inside.
WM-W800 is one of the many walkmans share this part. In WM-W800 the forward wheel requires to be connected to 2 wires but the reverse wheel doesn't have any wire attachments.

Ah! So the left side has a different assembly to the right. Makes sense

In the w800 is the wiring to power the motor?

I took the motor out and you can see the main gear itself here

That is very useful! Thanks! I think I’ve done the right thing ordering an old similar model. Does the cog detach from the silver plate, or is it one piece?

On my version the wires power the motor slightly differently, through a very thin plastic circuitboard and into 8 tiny solder points.
