Its been a long time since i wanted to make this post.
It was in my head for many months but time was not
    on my side .
Now that Xmas are approaching fast
and at last i found some time for my beloved hobby
here is a topic about the well known amongst Boombox
    collectors-afficionados and vintage electronics cycles
for the bassiest units ever produced in the early 80s.:):D

I am not going to keep you in secrecy as i am talking for
the CROWN Radio Corpotration a Japanese company that no longer exists
but left us some relics to appreciate and admire.

I am trying to finish a goal to collect all that pictured below(i have most of them tbh:))
which are the most desirable ones
and in my humble opinion the Hi End -TOP of the Line and most beautiful ones.

They are mostly from their CSC- 9.. and CSC 8.. series and some of the sleekest
    Boomboxes ever made.

    Here are some pics :

A week ago a guy that finds boomers for me brought me the CSC-928
and couldnt help but notice how brilliant designers and creative minds
working for Crown that Golden Era where. Not only they produced units that
were attractive and pleasing to the eye they even produced machines that
were very serious about how to deliver sound.
One who knows has to admit that the Crowns you own are bassy machines.
I also found out how they cared about looks of their boomers because they
have models like the (925-928 945-948 935-938) which are different in appearance
with silver speaker grills and blue tuner dials or vus instead of black grills and grey dials.
There is Crown Suitcase boombox which for sure makes this list but cant remember
the model number right now but member Reli has one and i d be obliged if he would add it here.:)

Crown whereabouts now are a bit obsure as in time they prodused cheaper
consumer electronics like washing machines and microwave ovens. Intenting to hit
a target group with not so many to spend.
So their name in younger generations mostly is a synonym with
    low budget electronics.

Recently i went to a big store here in Athens and saw some LCD TVs badged with
their Logo but i dont really know if they are the same company plus there is an American
company producing amplifiers and sound products based in California USA which
are definitely not the same company.

This topic will be enriched with more info and pics(from my collection definitely)
in the Future as its a never ending
quest for me to find out more about this fascinating Japanese corporation.
Any of you that might want to add more
(like brochures, adverts of the era or tech specs etc on those machines)
are so very welcomed. Knowledge is to be shared after all eh?

For now the KING is Back !!:D

Great post. Not seen a lot of these from their range. Got the 850, 950 and used to have the 945, not had any others. Interesting to see the diversity of styles. Am liking the little 935

That is a great collection of pictures. We were discussing the decline of the Crown name in a different thread.

    http://www.stereo2go.com/forums/threads/help-needed-info-about-this-crown.1973/#post-16431

I still wonder if they were actually a company with their own design team and factories or if they bought from a variety of companies.

Back in 1981 they also sold small TVs like this one

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CROWN-B-W...176641?hash=item3af9456081:g:3K8AAOSwAk9ZpSil

In 1981 my Father bought a very similar Rank Organisation Bush which obviously came from the same place.
It cost £99 the equivalent of £350 today.

p.s Here is one you missed from 1979. Anything sold by Argos should be quite common in the UK although it would have been almost
four weeks wages for me back then.

Just seen the topic with the 90s Mini Crown Hi-Fi system Longman .
You can see the decline right there.

There is another Crown which is in my collection and missed this list
and for sure it deserves to be mentioned because its a hybrid
of the CSC-850 and some models from the CSC - 9.. Series
(Note the tweeter grills which are the same as the 850
    plus 2 Led VU Meters)
but i really cant remember its model number right now.
    I have a pic though .
    crown φο.jpg

I am also adding a pic from the ''Crown Tower'' i made about 3 years ago.
I really need to update this Tower soon.:)

I just got my first Crown and re-read this old thread, here's an ad I also posted down in the newspaper ad thread, Crown was really early into boomboxes but these are some of their best from 1981. I wonder how nice the micro-system is, it seems to be really rare. There's a ton more Crown Ads down below, they really look nice compared to some of the others I've posted.
