Is there a consensus on replacement gumstick batteries for the Sony ex series? I think original Sony are discontinued but I see various new ones available.

Ah very nice! My lithium rechargeables usually get about 500 cycles, is that roughly similar? Also, do you charge in-unit or separately?

nah, i don't charge in the unit, i use the original charger, you clip the battery in that one - i'm just worried something goes wrong and damages my babies ;-)

Very wise! That said, those batteries are so cheap I could just buy new...

    Thanks for the batteries reference.

Any charger you recommend? The Sony ones are going for ridiculous prices on eBay...

Was just browsing and noticed the Panasonic RQ series has the same gumstick battery and therefore charger. Could be useful information

I meant to ask about this - do you think a standard NiCad / NiMH multi-battery charger would work? If it will charge AAA / AAs, the gumsticks are comparable in size, voltage and capacity... I haven't had chance to try it yet.
