Given current TSP-L2 prices (assuming someone is actually paying those money ...) I'm surprised there are no chinese rip-off floating off ebay and sold as original Sony piece from 1979.
Let's hope this craze will fade soon.

The battery door is a little loose but it's in great condition apart from that, needs a good clean, but I might get it done professionally because I don't want to risk breaking it.
The serial is about 50,000 and something.

The battery door is just fixed by a sandwich technique... A kind of wire that is screwed between the chassis and metal case.... Or is the hinge streched? Replacing the belts is very easy to DIY... On YouTube you can find a step by step... Belts from Marian are super!

Fixed battery door but...I've just noticed the motor turns the wrong way and a couple of wires have come off the mic...
Definitely not going to attempt to fix this myself.

Motor wrong way is easy solved i think.... Belt on motor is maybe not correct placed... Mic wires : upper left is red, upper right is red and below red is black

Sold one recently in "good" condition with a new belt and sounding excellent for $325 AUD. Honestly that is a fair price. The Guardians of the Galaxy movie series just made them more desirable and the prices are way to high now.

I hate the Guardians of the Galaxy movie series, I will do anything I can to boycott them. I'm looking for a WM-3, the repackaging of the TSP-l2 following the release of the WM-2. It is frequently sold as a "black version" of the TSP-L2 and obviously prices are high.
Couldn't they have used a CD player, a minidisc or an mp3 player in GoG ?? Anything but a walkman ...

Hahahah. I like those movies just for the movie itself. Not because the main character has a Walkman. I assume you're talking about the WM-3? Even they are fetching high prices. I'm just happy to have gotten my TPS-L2 and brand new boxed WM-3 in mint condition for quite a reasonable price last year.
