I think some people here have worked on the DD9 but i'm afraid I can't help with this one. Maybe you can pick up a different inexpensive sony walkman for spares just to see how they put the general mechanism together. Do that first so not to risk your DD9.
Actually it was quite easy. I took away the lock to get same space to work. Then bend up the pinch roller a bit to get acces to the hole where the pin goes through the roller and with tiny small nail pushed the pin out. You have to push from the smallest end of the pin. Then You just lift upp the rubber and replace with a new.
I didn't realize! I swear these weren't available when I was bringing my DD9 back to life earlier this year. Seems like I'm placing orders with Marian on a monthly basis these days
Hi there nakamichi. When you mentioned “remove the lock” which lock are you referring to? Is it the washer that holds the pinch roller assembly in place? If not, could you kindly tell me which lock is it? Thank you in advance!
With regards to this, user nakamichi kindly replied to me via DM that the lock refers to the door of the DD9. This method has its risks (e.g. accidently tearing the ribbon cable that goes to the front of the lid), so it is advisible to be careful. Hope this helps someone.
