    Hi all!

Some time ago I joined the forum, and now I want to introduce myself.
I am Harry from the northern part of the Netherlands.
And over here Philips is (well, was) our pride and joy and in my collection there are some of their radio's.

Of course, a picture says more than words:
    Philips.JPG

But I also have some non-Philips ones:

These radio's are not at all mint unfortunately (the quality of Philips deteriorated a lot in the 80's).
Ah well, it is still nice to have them.

I'm happy to join Stereo2Go , thanks for having me on board!

    Hi Harry, welcome aboard
Can you please post a close shot of the one with 3 pieces. Is it a radio only or a cassette radio ( the one with square speakers)

    Boodokhan, you mean this one?
    Philips_22RR800.JPG
It's the Philips 22RR800, the first stereo Philips radiocassette from the early 1970s.
You can mount the speakers on the back and carry it.

Carryinghandle can be popped out, also the aerial will come out pressing the button on the front.

Indeed it is also a cassetterecorder.

Welcome Harry; nice to know about one of the earlier boomboxes ever made (I think that Philips 22RR800 could be even the first one)

    Welcome Harry

I bet that 22RR800 cost a lot of Guilders back in the 1970s.
From the photos I am guessing that the AM and FM tuning are separate.

Yes, the retail asking price was in 1974 fl. 1298 dutch guilders, it was the top model radiocassetterecorder of Philips in this year, and their first stereo one.
AM and FM have individual tuningknobs, with fine tuning also.

I like my Panasonic RX-F40 very much, it's like a walkman, but radio, cassette with recording function and stereo speakers in a real small package! Panasonic_RX-F40.JPG
