So i had a chat with my wife the other day and she was commenting that i hadn't bought any boxes for a while (which she was kinda pleased about) and i gave it lots of talk of not buying anything much because i have my sights set on some higher end ones so not really looking to get anything at the moment. The next day this box arrives, i buy a Philips D8714 Elephant on ebay and a Sharp GF-8 mini on ebay, doh :banghead:

This thing is gorgeous though and i had wanted one for a while....

    Sheer Quality!!

The 70's was a time to experiment for the manufacturers & did they give us some wonderful technology to buy & enjoy! My dad bought a Panny music centre in 1980, sleek beautiful & great spec, it screamed 'Here come the 80's' all silver too - it spelt the end of the over engineering of the 70's & I remember thinking of my granddads 'Wood Effect' ITT radio recorder from 1976 - monster build quality & performance from a mono machine from an era that seems so long ago now................ :( :( :(

Your machine is extraordinary with features most mono's could only dream of!!

@T-ster congratulations on such a beautiful mono, it looks like mono JVC I am trying to hunt down, but this one looks more pimp, I love it!! BTW, it looks like you bought an Elephant from the same guy who sold me his D8814. Small world! ;-)
