I just bought these album as digital download and recorded it on a golden UDII. It sounds great.

I love this music with 8 bit sounds that makes me remember some computer games, like those of the Spectrum.

Although their cassettes are currently out of stock, I didn’t want to buy one because I’m not sure that the recording quality will be OK, so I went for the download.

I can recommend Silverimage - Troubled Hearts, that also features Anders and some nice vocals.
I was impressed that the download was supplied as wav files so are truly CD quality.

I have both tapes (Retro Grooves and Troubled Hearts) and I can confirm that they sound really good! (at least, to my ears:scratch2:)

Retro Grooves is on Type II tape (I remember reading somewhere that the stock used was BASF) recorded with 120µS equalization (BTW, it seems the Dolby logos on the cassette shell were a mistake; the recording is made without any NR so I took the liberty of scraping them off my cassette to avoid any confusion!). Troubled Hearts is on Type I tape, also without any kind of NR.

I'm already waiting for Anders to release Retro Grooves vol. 2!
