Hmm, that's very curious. I've never had two same red aluminum units but I guessed they were identical. Now we know that it's not... Is that a Massdrop HD6XX? I've read it's a nice improvement over the HD600, right? I'm in love with my HD650 and HD540... I love the unfamous 'veil' of these headphones. I can listen to them 24h a day and not be fatigued of that.
Yes, the red anodizing finish is slightly different maybe is made in different factory. Yes it is indeed Massdrop HD6XX and I'm very happy with it, my walkmans too.
I have new baby (mind 3rd revision WM-D6C s/n 300XXX), but i need to fix it first, to enjoy it later. Here some pictures of the repair process.The problem is wroung polarity.Hase play fast problem,no sound so DC-DC was dead.I aim to fix it for second time and I sucseeded.W&F is realy low so I'm very happy, the belts is intact. I installed new ic cx20084 and new inductor 33uH ,transistor BC817 and capacitor 10uF 16V. Sadly does not have battery holder and i switch from my other unit. (revision 2).There is diffrence in motor assy from my 1st revision unit.
