Which type 1 tape would you choose?

    Im a little curious of what type one tapes you guys would choose out of this bunch.

    All are high quality tapes from (roughly) 1985.

    The poll closes on 24 (of February)

    I haven't tested all of them at all, but from the three I did (AD-X, XLI and HF-S), I'd say the AD-X. However, there are noticeable differences depending on the year of release...

    I chose the Maxell XLI-S. The only one I haven't had experience with is the Scotch XSI. And surprisingly, the Maxell XLI-S is just as good into the early 90's. I wish I had more of them. The Sony HF-ES or ES-I is a premiere ferric tape. Not easy to find, however.
