Did Conion ever?

johnnygto - 2009-01-19 20:20

Did they ever re-release the C100F?(early '90s) Did they make another version that used the tape 2 door?

Just curious.

No VU Meters, No Tape Run...No Thanks.

In your thread below:

Well let's just say that the $250 BIN Conion tapedeck door that was sold tonight on e-Bay comes from my attached pic, and not that other issue you have posted above Wink

I sure hope so for the guy that paid $250 for the one on e-Bay tonight...especially if he bought it for his Conion that's missing the deck door Laugh Out Loud

You're right, the tapedoor that sold on eBay for $250 looks to be from this boombox, not a C100F.

You're right on, Iso. The door that sold for $250 definitely DID NOT come off a Conion C-100/Clairtone 7980/Helix HX-4635. Even though I'm sure the door will fit, it is not authentic to the box listed in the description. The poor buyer got ripped off.

Here's an authentic door:

Notice the "Tape 1" and "Play/Rec."

isolator42 - 2009-01-20 09:19

to be honest, for $250 I'd want rather more than the tape door.
But what do I know, eh? Smile

transamguy1977 - 2009-01-20 17:08

OK can we see the mystery box now??
is it the Conion Cityboy???? Mini boombox

- 2009-01-22 19:31

Does anyone have a full picture of the boombox with tape1 and tape 2? Model number? is it another conion. I have a door with tape 2 on it also I found at a flee market 2 years ago and was so happy it fit perfect. Who cares if it says tape 2 on it! (it fits perfect and no hole anymore!

I would think the same thing, anything to make a Conion look complete... I love mine Smile

I'm suprised, that seller is usually perfect with every transaction. It must have been a mistake he overlooked. I'm sure he would fix the problem if the buyer was upset as I bought from him in the past and I was very happy with the box's I bought from him. He even gave me some parts for free I needed for my Conion.

johnnygto - 2009-01-22 19:57

The verdict is still out on the seller. I asked th seller if he noticed the door was not for a C100 and he stated, it was a mistake and the buyer would be getting the correct door as he had one also! Just wrong one photographed. Seemed like a nice guy.

So the buyer probably didn't get ripped as initially thought... dunno.. I am goona watch his feedback to see... Nod Yes

I can't believe nobody here knows the name of the radio shown above with the two tape doors or has a full picture of the radio. Why is it being hidden?? I thought we were all freinds here and share info. I would if I knew what radio it was and would post the full picture not half a picture. Common give it up. LOL
is it a Smasyo?

Hey Johnny, if you copy the picture and save it to your computer the title of the picture reads Smasyo try it. Since nobody wants to give it up.

hi, conionfx...i dont think conion or the conion onkyo company ever made a dual cassette boombox like that...that i believe is a helix dual cassette stereo tuner unit not a boombox...if they did it be a first i ever heard of...i seen that unit you see on the bay a while back being sold under the name helix

- 2009-01-25 07:40

Thanks Blaster,

That makes sense because I have never seen Conion or Coney Onkyo make a booxbox with double cassete doors in silver. Like you said if they did You don't know about it and neither do I. I guess you dont have more pictures of this Helix Stereo unit you said you have seen on Ebay do you? (gsbadbmr)I see you have a picture on page one do you have anymore? or Does someone have a full picture of the unit in question? Just really curious about this mystery unit.

blaster - 2009-01-25 12:34

sorry, no extra pics CFX...maybe someone else does...

charlesdickens - 2009-02-06 13:35

What about the meterless Conion from the first page. What is the history w/ that?

- 2009-02-18 19:57

That is the 1990's remake of the Conion minus the tape direction lights auto reverse and rewind on the middle tape deck only ff and bottom tape deck buttons were not soft touch they were push down buttons. The VU meters in the left top corner is missing. Also the power is not as strong as the original is. I remember when I had one. The sound was good though. The knobs were made in chrome also. One thing I have to say it was nice looking.

tobi - 2009-06-07 05:51

The Conion C100FXL has a second Tape door... it doesn't exist, only virtual.

Cheers, Tobi
