How to open up Aiwa CS 880 please?

boombang - 2010-02-17 12:31

I have a Aiwa CS 880. I need to get to the centre loudspeaker to replace a baffle (?) that has become dislodged. I have undone all the screws at the rear of the case which have an embossed arrow pointing to them but while the lower part of the case seems to want to come free the upper part seems fixed still. Don't want to use force in case I crack something. Has anyone ever taken one of these to pieces or knows how to get at the insides, specifically the speakers?

Also, one of the slide-on toggle switch levers (not the switch itself) has gone missing - think it was when we moved home. Does anyone have a spare one of these that I could buy from them?

All help most gratefully received!

Thanks a lot.

Yeah. As you take the front off, lift it slightly, and pull. It is held at the top. Good luck.

Johnny. I doubt you do, but if you got the cassette tape soft eject dampener (the one with the cord), I could use one of those. Yeah, it's to repair "our" 880. Smile
