Panasonic RX-7700

Just wondering if anyone has encountered heavy static with the volume control on the RX-7700? Mine had some static at all volume levels but now it's too much now that I don't even like adjusting the volume one notch. Other than that the box is mint and I want to enjoy listening to it more. So...I am looking to use deoxit but wanted to know if anyone else has opened one up before or have any advice before I attempt to try it myself. Thanks for any advice!

Yes, the volume control is very prone to oxidation on the RX-7700. When you open it up, you'll find that the back cover is thin compared to the thick/wide front cover and so the controls will be deeply recessed. Spray carefully or else you'll get solvent in the tuner glass window and then you'll have a ton of work ahead of you to correct it. Of course, you can always sell it to me! Nod Yes Big Grin

Yep, it's pretty tricky and not the easiest boombox to remove the innards from. But how do you "STUFF" one up? Confused

I dis-lodged a wire somewhere. Only 1 channel would work. Sold it, soon after.

Ah, I see. Here in yankee land, we call that "messed it up."
