Anyone thinked about using car insonorisant on boombox speakers?

Hello,

I have some SilentSkin and some stinger roadkill left from my previous audio car setup, it haves worked wonders on my doors, and now i-m thinking, did anyone ever insulated their boombox speakers with distortion canceling materials? I-m thinking of my big Philips that sounds a little "plastic" and the speaker box is easy to sound-proof.

Any thoughts/ideas?

Is this sound-deadening material?

If so, I think someone did try it once. Don't think it made much difference, but it was a good while ago...

I used some similar material on one of my boxes, and it successfully reduced the "flexing/creaking"
