hitachi trk8600 line in fault

hi, if anyone can help i have a trk8600 and every function works perfect except the line in, both phono and line in are heavily distorted and lacking volume, it not the method as i have tried several devices and on other bbxs and it works.

i have the bbx apart now to see if there are any dry joints etc but all the components are spread out as the switch between line and phono is on the main board but the pre amp for the line seems to be on a second board as is the socket help!

not so sure about it being a resistor or cap now as the 2 channels stay separate and then each feed into their own ic and the dont seem to recombine at all so for both channels to be distorted means both have a fault which is unlikely unless it was caused by human error but surely if the pre amp was damaged then there would be no sound at all, checked all resistors and caps up untill the small ic (think it is transister ic pre amp)they seem to match on readings and the caps are stable when charging, cant track any further past the ic as they root of in all directions
