Kittmaster Question

Chris,

Although this seems to be a novel idea, I can't for the life of me even begin to understand how this would work in conjunction with the FF and Rew functions on the deck itself. Any ideas? I noticed the auction says works on 95% of decks. Why am I doubting this? Id love to have one if it works how it says but i'm missing something somewhere when it comes to the advancing of tracks. If it's meant to work by way of a mechanical operation (i.e. moving spindles) then it wouldnt work on a deck with broken belts as it states it would.

Bashngu I want to know more about this cassette adapter. This has awesome potential if it works as advertised.

I know these types of cassettes have been around for a while but not with removable SD storage that I'm aware of.

My first pass analysis of this would be the the internal battery runs the SD card interface to read the data on the card. It most likely parse the FAT index on the card to figure out where the song table listings and hence the buttons to change the tracks and things.

The FF/REW thing is because some deck monitor the spindles and disengage the mech if the motion stops. "Typically" in both modes play or FF/REW the tape head is "active" allowing the electromagnetic tape head receiving analog data from the SD card to be "heard" from the tape input. Since the output is in microvolts, it doesn't take much to power the device and can "stand alone" as long as the tape player is "engaged" as if a real cassette were in there.

that is what I gather from all that mess.

Hey there,
I actually have one of these cassette thingy's and it works incredibly well, although I have only used it on fully functional tape decks. So as to the 'how' it works, I can't answer that, but the music search works great on my c100, and is spotty but pretty good on an m90, but with just the FF or RW engaged, it advances/rewinds very well
Bizarre device, but I really enjoy using it

What size of sd card do you have in yours? I wonder how big a capacity it could handle..
