i am thinking of buying an airbrush to touch up the paint on boomboxes. Just looking for some info on what makes to buy. ive had alot of experience in spraypainting with guns with gravity fed pots, but these are far too aggressive for small delicate work. Also from experience i know that cheaper guns don't give great results. any advice would be much appreciated

Try the Auto supply stores they may have for small projects.

Semi high end level airbrush kits at Model Hobby shops should net you a good one for well under $100.

If you've got your own compressor, that's most of the expense, and the airbrush's designed for models go down to a very small/fine spary.

I've been thinking about this too.. especially for boxes with lots of scratches that can be easily sanded back. Be a treat to just mask the section off and repaint like new.

you are correct glue the hobby ones are the way to go and you find all kinds of paint colors to

well been snooting around on the net and got some info on types of airbrushes and whats best for what i need, as far as the paint goes from what i gather silver is one of the hardest colours to colourmatch, what with boxes being different shades of silver this could be the most difficult bit of going the airbrush route

you can also buy cans of compressed air to run the air brush ,it has a fitting on top of the can to connect the air supply hose and a valve to regulate the pressure.
