Line in Adapters

Hello everyone,

it's probably that most of you know how to connect a CD Player or a MP3 player to old ghettoblasters, but I'd like to share my experience:

My only ghettoblaster till now (but, there are three more on the way :-) ) is the one in my avatar. It lacks RCA Aux Line Ins; it only provides Phono RCA Ins and a Tape DIN In. Today arrived this adapter:

It works perfectly!
If the ghettoblasters lacks of both the DIN In and the RCA Aux Line Ins, but shows Phono RCA Ins, this converter would be an option:

It's preferable the first option, because there's no RIAA inversion involved, but this works fine too, and with these two tweaks a CD player or MP3 could be played through any Boombox.

Best regards.

yup --these type adapters make most everything compatible.

How about my Aiwa, it doesn't let me listen to the radio if there's any wires connected to Line In. Would these devices let me use Phono instead?

If the Aiwa have RCA Phono inputs, the Monacor converter would be a good solution, but the sound is not as good as with a straight line in (not much difference anyway).

Regards.

It has line in and phono inputs. So you're saying that no matter if I used an adapter, the phono jacks would never sound as good as the line in jacks?
