Lasonic TRC-931 Bottom Deck - S.O.S!!

gluecifer - 2009-04-28 03:12

I got the deck on this one fixed by my reapairer dude and it was my job left to fix the door as it was out of alignment ever so slightly from a previous repair that I couldn't test as, of course, the deck wasn't running.

So I get the door all nice and lovely, soft eject parts all rockin and smooth. Get her back together and now the motor won't spin up.

The motor is brand new as it was replaced by the repairer and was running perfectly before this incident, all belts are new, like I say it was all great apart from alignment of the tape in the door holder.

So the querstion is WHAT THE HELL has happened?
All wires are still connected, the leaf switches seem to be all cool (i'm no expert with these though), so I'm tapped out of ideas.

If anyone can help out, I'd be very grateful as otherwise I'll have to take it back again, which isn't something I'd prefer to do as I don't learn anything much from that.

Thanks for reading brothers.

well the first thing make sure the belt did not slip off or the power cable for the motor make sure it did not snap off just some things that can make a good day bad Smile

Thanks ramon! All checked out.

It's getting power to everything else fine, I can manually turn the fly wheel and the tape plays, with the button pushed in, but it's like the switch that engages the motor when a button is pressed just isn't working. Also, when turned off pressing the deck buttons down turn her on to be in Sleep mode, so that part of the electrics is ok.

Hope theres some more ideas! If it's any help I can take photos if would help anyone who think it may be a problem they can spot visually. Any other suggestions would be awesome.

Man your problem is driving me nuts now...don't have any fresh ideas unfortunately Frown
I have been looking at mine trying to figure but if the wires are all good and the leaf switch is engaging I'd be wondering about the motor itself.

The motor was for sure running before you adjusted the door?

seems a pretty simple deck which is why it's bothering me...gotta be something obvious.

good luck, if i have any ideas i will send your way..

Thanks Blah blah blah!
Yeah, motor was all fine before, I'm going to open her up again on saturday and see if I can find something, again.

Like you say, it's a simply designed mech, I've certainly worked on more complicated ones with a degree of success.

Ah well, thanks for the input brother! Will report back after I have another try tomorrow.
