Hello,

I am not able to get any sound out of the aux in on my Philips d 8300. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Presuming this isn't a boombox where you have to press record on the tapedeck to get anything via aux-in, you could try cleaning the power selector switch...

Thanks for your help. I saw you added a reply to the next thread where I first threw in my 2 cents but thought i'd try a different thread in case there is differences between the d8444 and the d8300.

I've tried the aux in on Tape/Dubbing/Radio, these are the only functions on the switch and everything seems in great shape. I have a Pioneer sk400 where the aux in overrides the FM but the button actually says Aux/FM.

I'm totally stumped on this one I've tried the blank cassette in, record, record and pause, nothing.

Can't remember if I tried it with just play, I'll give that a whirl tonight.

Anyone else out there have the same issues with the Philips d8300?

Is it DIN or RCA connections?

I've got the same issue on one of my boxes, and after exhausting all other possibilities and assuming it's not faulty, I suspect the DIN socket is not wired to accept input, only as an output socket. In other words that fucnctionality has not been implemented by the manufacturer / cheapskates. Smile

Nope, they are RCA's. Says Aux in right underneath. Bizarre. I'm going to give it another whirl tonight, maybe they are mislabelled outputs. I do have one old one where the input is switched with the output, but I think that was someone who repaired it in the past, rather than a design flaw.
