Modifying GF-777

gld - 2009-06-30 06:42

Hi,

This is my first posting here so by gently with me :-).

I bought it a couple of months ago an I am impressed with its sound. I do feel that the speakers are a bit tired due to its age, which is only natural. I'd like to make some subtle modifications to improve the sound and after reading this forum extensively it looks like speaker replacement is the best option.

I wondered if you guys had any recommendations for replacing the centre two speakers on a Sharp GF-777. The speakers on Autobot's modification (the outer two speakers) looked interesting to me because they are simple looking, unlike most car speakers.

I saw the Pyle speakers that were used on one of the modification project but I don't feel confident with hacking the speaker in the same way that guy had to.

I'd be interested to hear your input.

Thanks

GLD

The Pyle project was mine. However they still dont sound right. I think the amp is blown or something. I'm no electrical wizard and haven't found someone to hand the radio to 1st hand. I dig the way it looks now, but the sound just isnt there yet. Worse case senerio i'm going to take out the speakers and build a box with the help of my brother. I havent gotten any idea how to even begin that project nor do I currently have any time to take a dump never mind learning to build a box from scratch.

I'm sorry to hear that it didn't turn out to your liking, Petey. It would have been nice to hear some good results, especially after you put so much into that project.

Thanks for the reply.
