sharp vz200 repair

i have my brothers vz2000 , the record deck is the only thing not working , i am sure it will be a belt as was working before storage ,
i seem to remember seeing a strip down step by step guide on here somewhere but cannot find it ,, could someone give me a clue ?

i`m not sure because i have`nt tried it,but you may be able to get the deck out without having to strip it..open the door,there is 2 screws holding the deck in,then lie the box on its back,you will see there is 2 metal plates with springs,there`s 4 screws,2 each side,they are for the the springs that support the deck,take the plates off and undo the 2 screws inside the door,then see if you can teese the deck out,just watch out though because the wires inside are not very long..

Gettoman is correct. I met a guy on craigslist who wanted a vz 2000 to repair and I hooked up with him to replace belts on both of ours. Now they are both 100% functional. You dont have to take the back off, just the front door cover and the screws to remove the table. Be careful, much easier if you have 2 people to help hold the part while you clean the old crappy goo from the old belts. Good luck.
