disconnect the speaker connector and use an ohmmeter to measure across the plus and minus terminal, see if the readin is around 3.2 ohms or so. If NOT, the magnet is OPEN and the driver needs to be repaired/replaced.

2/ the radio echo (assume it is that) light keeps dropping in and out when Im searching for a FM station. It's not in sync with the fm light buut it will only light up when the signal is strong. Is this an issue? I tried this on my 777 and the radio echo light just stays on constant.

Mine is still in pieces.....can't confirm or deny this......>>>> use the gf777 manual to show you what the writing means.

3/ tape deck one appears to be working for now but it only opperates on the tape operation 1 & or 2. Get no respnse from it when tape operation is set on deck 1 playing continous onto deck 2.

Ouch, that could be anything, try rocking the rec/playback switch to see if there is a contact issue. There should be a "slider" bar that also activates a switch if I recall....massage it.

4/ deck 2 is dead but i'll look at that later

GOOOOOOOD luck with that one, troubleshooting the decks requires extensive removal of the entire mechanism assembly....make sure you mark everything.

Any ideas tech heads out there? appreciate any help
