adding an equalizer...

I have an Ipod Touch which only has EQ presets (dance, rock, salsa, etc.)It is possible to get a line level signal from my "Touch" with a Sendstation mini dock through the data port.I'm hoping a home stereo graphic equalizer will accept my Ipods line level output directly. Is it possible to put a home stereo graphic equalizer directly into the signal path in between a sources line level signal and my boxes aux.in jacks? I am wanting to see what more EQ flexibility will do for my boxes sound. The box itself only has bass and treble pots which I plan to keep centered if this setup is possible.

Yes it is. What you would do is use either the tape monitor function of your eq or the pre-in/out (line in/out) of the eq. No different than what you'd do for a home stereo. Nod Yes Big Grin

Many thanks Oldskool69!Another issue I have is a box on which the tuner doesn't work but the aux. in does work. Can I run a dedicated home stereo tuner directly into the boxes aux. in to have radio reception?Although I'm pretty sure this is possible,I want to make absolutely sure before I look for these components at my local thrify.I'm afraid that my boombox habit (along with some other occurences) has made me poor.Goodwill is all I can afford anymore. Welcome to Poorville where a lot of us think we reside! Laugh Out Loud I won't claim to be poor as I know (and I know you really doas well) have I pretty good. Laugh Out Loud

Yes you can plug any component (except fo a turntable unless you have a phono pre-amp) into your line in. A seperate tuner would work just fine. Smile

I Agree
with oldskool -- i have often run a good component stereo tuner thru the line-in jacks --it will be fine

Yes you can plug any component or Musical instrument you would like to providing you have no More than approximately 250 millivolt so that you dont Overdrive your AUX input amp, in the Item that you are imputting to ...
(except for a turntable unless you have a phono pre-amp)-Which has a very Low millivolt output 15mv or so or less and may not be even be recognised by your line in ...

The Phono Requires a Special Pre-amp to get the level up to the level that the Aux can recognise ... so that ... well ...

That is how to use your Aux Input to play your Cassette's or whatever? through your Cassette-less or
nonworking cassette boombox ...

I have Even Demostrated how that this CAN be done in this little short Video here below, Notice the Sony Walkman Playing a Cassette through this boombox .... :-)
