Strange Battery Issue With M70

ghettoboom777 - 2008-10-27 09:00

Hi-I have a strange issue with my M70.It of course works fine on A.C.
But I put new batteries in it and it won't turn on.
Now if I put the A.C. cord in and pull it out, then it stays on battery power. But if I turn it off and then try to turn it on again-it won't turn on.
The strange thing is if you try doing this with the A.C. cord disconnected it won't work.
It's like there has to be power on the A.C. cord to make it go from A.C. to D.C.
Has anyone had anything like this?
By the way I tried pushing in on that switch thing in the a.c. inlet and it doesn't help.
What should I look for and I'm hoping it isn't anything major as I would like to power it w/batteries.
It will work but as of now I have to have power on the cord and remove it then the batteries take over but if I turn it off I can't turn it on again.
Just want to get some advice and or see if anyone has had this happen before.
I'll tear in to it tomorrow but would like advice-Thanks-Ghettoboom777. Confused

Hi Rimmer36-I'll get some of that stuff but I'll have to get it at Radio Sgack.
I think they call it switch and contact cleaner(leaves no residue)type.
Can anyone help me get the right stuff.
I can't wait to order something from Great Britain.
I think that stuff will work,I tried moving that switch in & out a bunch but it didn't do anything.
I'll have to get some of that stuff this week.
I'll let you know how it goes.
Thanks much-Ghettoboom777. Smile

Hi Rimmer36-I'm in Tn,U.S.A.
Where can I get this in the U.S.A.?
Hey Fatdog-got any for sale?-otherwise what's the Radio Shack equivalent??
The shipping from U.K. os prohibitive costwise.
They don't ship outside the U.K. I don't think.
I appreciate your help-Thanks-Ghettoboom777. Smile

I'm always curious about how people clean eggs - do you boil them first? Big Grin

Hi Vlad-That's hilarious!! Laugh Out Loud
Some of those new eggs are so ugly-that's not a bad idea.
At least this was an oblong egg and it's from 1996'.It's an Aiwa so it's not all bad.
Thanks-Ghettoboom777. Smile Laugh Out Loud
