Hi All,

Are the drive belt motors in the sharps the same?

My 2500 is starting to slow down

Cheers

have you replaced the turntable drive belt? if not they stretch over time and just spin on the pulley and it slows down the speed.

Hi JVC Floyd,

Yes I have, I replaced it about 6 weeks ago.

I first noticed it when I was trying to play 45s.

The main mechanic of the VZ 3000 and VZ 2500 is equal.

And the VZ 3000 looks very similar to the VZ 3500.

Hi,

the belt sizes are all the same.
Are you sure you have the right size belt?
How tight was it?

What do you mean by slowing down, is the speed generally slow or does it start of fast and then get slow?? I've repaired ober 15 of these things, usually the speed needs to be calibrated a little after the belt is replaced.
Maybe the motor spindle is dry or full of gunk.

Cheers

Thanks for your responses.

jvc floyd - yes I did change the speed, thanks for the suggestion.

dyyetix - your English, is fine, I understood everything you were saying.

roddy@RADIOHIER - The belt was a good fit, I am sure it was the right one. Checked with a few people here. About 6 months ago I picked it a 3500 to play with and got it running perfectly. I have now put it in the loft and plan to use it for spares. When it starts to slow it sounds like the batteries are running out. 8 out of 10 times on a 33 it plays fine (well OK).

Regards

Alexis
