Schematic / Wiring Diagram

rockit - 2011-10-03 06:38

Good day to all. I initially posted this request in the general chat forum to no avail. I used to lurk around on this site many moons ago and consequently had an opportunity to learn much about numerous boomboxes. When I last logged in again recently after a relatively long hiatus, I quickly came to realize that the format had changed significantly including the fact that I no longer had any access to my previous messages; As a result, I unfortunately have lost access to the few contacts with whom I had conducted some exchanges. My issue currently is that I acquired a Conion C100F unit which requires some work and am in need of the "elusive" schematic. Some people are even claiming that such a document does not even exist which I know is not accurate; Once upon a time I can distincly recall a thread where this wiring diagram was being discussed. I am willing to reimburse someone for their time and associated cost as is necessary. If anyone here can lend a helping hand it would be greatly appreciated. I am looking forward to your insights. Be Well & Best Regards.

I remember now...there is only one member i know with this scematic....his name is kittmaster...so good luck with that...from what i remember the diagrams arn't much help eather..I dont know if he is here anymore..but you have a lead...

rockit - 2011-10-03 14:50

Thank You Very Much for this lead, I do genuinely appreciate it Be Well1

radio.raheem - 2011-10-03 17:44

redbenjoe - 2011-10-03 18:55

try this seller -

he has listed 100's of manuals this year

rockit - 2011-10-03 19:18

Hello again. Thank You for the heads up - I just send the seller a message; Am hoping that I get an affirmative!

rockit - 2011-10-04 11:42

The rumors are 100% true, I do have the complete schematic and parts build up for the unit.  I was asked not to redistribute it and therefore I can/will not.  I was very fortunate that the member who helped me physically took the risk to MAIL it to me to have it scanned and digitally captured.  I told that member I would honor his wishes no matter how hard someone begged me for it.

I will be happy to assist and give information if a specific issue is known in which I'll use them for a referral, but will not screen capture or redistribute the files......

Also the files are huge, they are over 300MB each due to the super high resolution I had them scanned at.  These were literally hand drawn and hand carried back from Japan from what I was told, so they are indeed.......very rare.

While I don't come here often, I still have my full collection which I listen to on a fairly regular basis.....Greetz to all members......been a while......TTYL.

Perhaps that was a secret mission, and schematics were stolen by James Bond from the Coney Onkyo factory

kittmaster - 2011-10-06 06:41

Possibly, the fact they exist is the only thing that counts.

rockit - 2011-10-06 06:45

Well, okay I suppose. Thanx for confirming that you do indeed have the schematic but that they are unfortunately "secret". Seems like an interesting paradox as to how people are sworn to absolutely not reciprocate despite the fact of the enormous assistance it could provide not just to me but many others who want to keep these wonderful systems running. Based on Metad's reply, I do wonder if they were actually stolen in some act of subterfuge otherwise what purpose would it serve to not utilize it for mutual benefit, especially in this community.  If my tech can't repair it then I may have to scrap the unit.

redbenjoe - 2011-10-06 07:14

hi chris - good to hear from you

--------------------

and rockit-

dont scrap it -

if your line-in works -

then rig ( velcro ) a good old ( metal antenna ) sony or panny am/fm RECORDING walkman to it-

and you will have a radio & a deck

and a great looking box

rockit - 2011-10-06 07:20

There is absolutely no sound coming through this monster.........

redbenjoe - 2011-10-06 07:26

nothing from the ext. speakers jacks ? or the phone jack ?

or with batteries ?

kittmaster - 2011-10-06 07:43

Just to add clarification, the files were NOT stolen, they were given in good faith that they would not be redistributed.....I would suggest that you find a more worthy tech.

This is audio electronics 101, and not hard to figure out signal paths......any tech worth his salt can reverse engineer and signal trace this starting from the AUX in and following the signal path ......while using google, to find the datasheets of the IC's that the signal flow through........

Hi Ira, long time.....
Hope all is well!

Good technician could help you without diagram.

If the amp chip is faulty, no worry, there are still plenty of them,

just google HA-1392 by Hitachi.

Give it a try.

rockit - 2011-10-06 08:41

I never alluded nor implied that the information in question was actually stolen; Given these specific circumstances outlined, I simply postulated if this scenario of illicit appropiation was indeed feasible based on the comment of another fellow member since (in my very humble opinion) the logic being extended as to the absolute inaccessability to this schematic is just insoluable. Unlike you, I will also not proceed in judgement of your unequivocal decision by equating relative dispersion on the merits of my technician; He is probably someone you all know anyway and is a gifted individual in these matters. The only arguement of any merit here would have to be based soley on economics; i.e. I will not share this wiring diagram due to the fact that I spend so much time scanning as well as other associated costs and expect to be remunerated accordingly. Yet again, my prerogative is not to want in any way to compel an individual against their will. However, this is tantamount to the apathy commonly witnessed every day with people driving by a stranded motorist who needs a tire iron for a flat and hundreds, if not thousands, merely pass on by. Self defeating, to say the least.

redbenjoe - 2011-10-06 09:02

how about --skip all this BS-

1000s of boxes get fixed w/o diagrams..

take it NOW to a tech-

with luck -- you might get an easy// immediate repair

kittmaster - 2011-10-06 09:05

***I will not share this wiring diagram due to the fact that I spend so much time scanning as well as other associated costs and expect to be remunerated accordingly.***

Has nothing to do with money or being paid/rewarded for providing it......the SOURCE asked the RECEIVER not to redistribute it......nothing more.

While the flat tire comparison is compelling, it is not the same scenario no matter how it is spun.  I know it's not the answer you want to hear, but short of that member coming to this thread and saying "Hey Chris, go ahead and let it out".....then I will continue to honor MY agreement with HIM......there are no exceptions......and if i die......those files die with me.

rockit - 2011-10-06 10:02

Well, this proves beyond the shadow of a doubt as to just how ignorant I really am. Who dares say that the world of BoomBoxes is not filled with such intrigue and machinations. Absolutely fascinating. Otherwise, why not literally take something like this to the

grave - With no exceptions that is. I'm willing to bet my very last dollar that if you had to trade all that documentation for some medicine to cure a disease for either yourself or a loved one you wouldn't even have time to think of the answer......

kittmaster - 2011-10-06 10:21

Interesting retort, however, you don't know me.  The scenario is completely invalid and would never come to that.....and even if it did.....what is the point of giving my word to someone to break it when it is "convenient" for others.......if you can't see what the problem is, then there is really nothing more I can say.

You still have an option, if the member is still active here, he will see this and unlock his wishes if he so chooses......not for me to decide.  I wish I never said anything......this is turning into a mess for no reason.

rockit - 2011-10-06 12:21

The only certainty that remains here is that, yes, I don't truly know who you are as a person. Unless you failed to acknowledge as such, I  overtly made it a point to iterate that I respected your decision without any reservation whatsoever. Whether it is warranted entails an evolved polemic. I may not have accrued any merit or seniority on this forum with my status but that fails to address the core issue. You may have interpretted my reply as somewhat "unorthodox" but it was leveled by design to emphasize what I believe to be the radical stance adopted here. A schematic is far from life and death with the latter being the only certain absolute. There is a certain degree of inherent irony where one is exclusively entitled yet the community at large is excluded especially when this forum is apparently intended for further enlightenment, sharing, kinship, etc. If the document in question is not to be made public then so be it. However, for someone like myself, there has to be some relatively valid reason. No society nor individual has ever benefitted from either arbitrary nor autocratic notions pertaining to the control of knowledge; Just ask your local religious leader to confirm how convinient it once was to keep everyone illiterate because of dogma.....  An extremist view would mandate that it is utterly immoral to compound with silence a misguided judgement. I will only concur that this thread has spun way beyond its scope. I will not further bore anyone with my mind numbing insight. Regret not your contribution to this diatribe. Moreover, please do try to understand why I wrote what I did. My motivation is sincere. These types of episodes reproduce themselves every single day in life and are left to breed toxic complacency and needless waste. The paralell is far drawn yet nonetheless brutally accurate. Be Well & Best Regards

I won't give out copies of mine either but it has nothing to do with all the BS .... just hate to see copies floating all over Epay and generating $$$
I've restored more than 10 Conion C100F and nver once had to even glance at my schematics...

WOW; old stuff geting older, this Conion C-100F - Not being manufactured anymore.  No Spare parts available through the orignal manufacturer.  Population getting larger ever expanding, Conion C-100F Boombox's with Main source being the Cassette, having Two cassette decks, decreasing in Numbers of finding one of these in full working condition, with More Problems needing solving repairing these as the parts available decrease in time - and then discover that very few people have this information in a website devoted primarely the the worship of cassette operated machine's reproducing analogue sound as it is produced and heard from the machines manufactured in the past and NoT much anymore if not ever again in the Mainstream of electronics  the pleasure derived from these machine's to the respective owners of these machines that operate in this format.  Then somebody or nobody desires information about the inner workings of a item that is no longer made that is out there, & protected by an oath of secrecy - that nobody can fathom, in this Niche website. WOW

rockit - 2011-10-06 20:59

Amen! Almost similar to the nuances involved with a fraternal order of Freemason clerics given the esoteric nature of the dealings associated to this exotic parchment.....

redbenjoe - 2011-10-06 22:17

rockit ????

you sure do talk better than you listen -

kittmaster offered to HELP YOU !!

others here have also offered  advice..

do you want to get your box fixed ?

or ... continue to unveil your entire vocabulary ??

rockit - 2011-10-07 07:33

I never stated that many people here were not willing to help. And, I am flattered by that collaboration. However, if my tech (regardless of his degree of aptitude versus some experts here) needs a schematic then I don't believe that this was an unreasonable request. If my objetive is to try and save some money by minimizing the time involved for the repair what exactly is the expection now - That I act as an intermediary relaying questions and answers between the forum and my tech?

rockit - 2011-10-07 07:35

Incidentally, does anyone here really think that my intention was to have this topic digress into a philosophical debate?

Oh, so you know what the private conversations between two people were X amount of years ago........that's wonderful, you should sell that technology and become a billionaire!!!

Don't presume to tell me what I was told regarding my acquisition.  This is what he told me first hand, and he and I are long time trusted members and friends.....if you choose not to believe it, then that is your business, don't you dare come on here and start BS on information you know nothing about.  Since those were the words out of his mouth to me, I have no reason to question it.  If you can prove OTHERWISE.......do it....and then I'll stand corrected, other than that.......keep your BS to yourself.

I see your in the same spot about not giving out the schematic......if your so generous, then why don't YOU provide it......oh, you said you can't/won't either.......and why is that exactly?

Pot meet kettle?

Again, you don't know me, and I don't GAFF what you think.

What an interesting thing!
redbenjoe is always in the epicenter of the battle.
he has crapped this forum a lot of times on the other site, and declared not to contribute on here again...
but now he has smelled the trouble, and what we can see: he is right here, right now, and having fun again.
