I picked up a RX-CW26 at the swap meet today for $3 under the assurance that 'we don't sell anything that doesn't work!' Yeah right.

Got it home, plugged it in and it won't play tapes. Surprise, surprise.

Radio & Aux both work fine. Tuner and EQ work fine as well. Overall sound is good.

Tried playing a tape and only the left spindles in each deck would turn. No FFD or RWD either (I assume they're linked to the non-functioning right spindles).

I'm guessing that I need to replace the belts but I have very little experience with electrical repair.

Just wondering if anyone can confirm my guess or shed light on how easy/difficult the repair job would be.
