the chances are the record switch needs a good cleaning but you need the deck out to do it as it is behind it

Any way i can pop it open and get behind with a Q-Tip? Read also sombody else had a humming tape deck on here and they said about Grounding the Tape motor?

q tips are no good you need to squirt the switch with contact cleaner, you could try opening cassette draw feel to the top left  inside you will feel a lever press it up at the same time press record lever on the deck it sometimes clears it .

Ive had the deck completely off.. Sprayed all the switches with SAS Spray It seems to have cleared one side up. Just the left channel Hums now :S

:EDIT" Put a Blank tape in and Cycled the Play/Record Buttons Its all comming through loud and Clear! (Got some Grandmaster Flash on right now.. Thumping away nicely) Just a little Hiss That i thinkll Clear itself out after a few Cycles on the Buttons? Thankyou Very much for your Help and Advice!
