DIN input sharp 9090/9191

hi, i've already asked about the 9191 but this is a separate question so I thought a separate thread would be better.

the 9292 and 9191 have phono, so with a phone to line converter I could plug into that, but with the 9090 there is only din. I have heard that DIN is line level, but have heard conflicting reports on whether you can actually use din to connect to the boombox. Apparantly the DIN is just for recording, so you have to press record when using the DIN input, but will I actually be able to hear it through the speakers?

I could use a cassette adaptor but the box i'm looking at (9090) has a faulty tape deck, so DIN, modifying the box to accept line, or FM transmitter are my only options

does anyone have any information on how DIN inputs work on the 9090/9191/9292

when it comes to din vs fm i would save the mucking around and just go with an fm converter/

Do you have a small metal stick pin,or something you can touch the inside of the connectors with?

Just crank up the volume and touch pin 1 (left in) or 4 (right in) with something metal. If you hear a buzz you're good to go.
