Sharp GF 777z Belt replacement

mrupscale1 - 2012-06-22 10:03

I am going to tackle the belts on my 777 and i am wondering if there are any shortcuts or anything i should watch out for. A detail on this would be great. My unit plays as it should but FF/REW wont work with cassette in place but will work without cassette. Is there an adjustment needed??

the chances are the idler wheels under the flywheels need a good cleaning on mine they were dirty once cleaned ff/rw were spot on .

Just make sure, you put the belt round the plastic posts, as below. Otherwise, it`s almost impossible to do. Deliverance is right, clean the little idlers, while you are at it.

Thanks Everyone for your input. Now i need to know where do i start, after removing back. Dont want to remove un-necssary screws from unit.

Oh heck. If you haven`t attempted to change belts before, i wouldn`t try the 777. It`s up to you, but, you really need a service manual.
