mini-sytem-sharp-cd-x12_MLB-F-3491088122_122012can anyone please advise what the problem might be?ive checked the speaker on that side and its working fine so its the connection only........also the cd drawer is stuck but thats for another day,i wanna get both speakers firing first

when you turn the volume up just on the chanal thats not working do you get anything atall ?    if not you will have to check the wires are connected inside andy.

andyboombox - 2013-02-14 04:15

ill have a look into it chris, cheers for that

lav.loo - 2013-02-14 04:20

just whack the ugly thing with something large and heavy only kiddin mate hope ya get her sorted

bison - 2013-02-14 05:41

looks big andy is it portable?

if the cd tray is stuck it will most probably have a cd stuck in there

docs - 2013-02-14 06:13

Could be dry solder joints on the cable connection ports inside. They are quite susceptible to it if they are used quite a lot. Could just need all contacts cleaning too.

Maybe someone found its beauty overwhelming and was sick on it causing a short circuit?

...sorry Andy

Try it on headphones andy mate.....if not working then it's something blown or needs cleaning....if it works on headphones prolly faulty speakers...

to your question..bison.no these are not portable.....i doubt you could lift one haha

andyboombox - 2013-02-15 07:55

thanks for all the responses gangive checked the speakers themselves reno, and both work, havent done the headphone test so will confirm everything with thatas usual thanks dave for your advice,im going to crack it open next week and inspect the internal connection for dry joints and see if i can get it working againyes andy like reno says its not really portable....it does have grab handles on top but its a deadweight and theres no battery compartment so mains only....but even with the left terminal fault this thing is MEGA LOUD AS HELL!!!!i cant wait to hear both speakers firing

and si bro ive found allsorts of crap and muck inside these boxes over the years....but vomit isnt one of them thank goodnessand cheers azz bro....im going totally against the grain with this one but im keeping this....partly because i cant bloody move itand im hoping the stuck cd inside will be something decent like pink floyd,or motorhead,or some other rock/prog rock stuff

andyboombox - 2013-02-18 07:55

right....been into it....kind of sorted the cd thing lol....but the speaker connector?what the feck????had a look and there is nothing at all wrong with it,on the inside too-nothing broken,or out of place,or loose or anything.....there are 2 solder joints to connect it to the pcb and they are clean and strong.....so what the hell?

guys im tearing my hair out with this one.....it sounds amazing on one working side but the other sides driving me mad....ive not wanted to hear one working fully as much as i have this one....some one please help me out!!!!!oh and the sound is fine and balanced when you plug headphones in,the spectrum anyliser is fine and balanced on the bottom too so the amp is fine too

HELP!!!!

lav.loo - 2013-02-18 10:00

sounds a bit of an oddball this one Andy, keep pluggin away and you'le get to the bottom of it i'm sure most of the best techs round here are self taught trial and error guys best of luck mate

docs - 2013-02-18 10:05

More likely an electronic problem then. You say the headphones are ok. Next step is to acquire the schematic to troubleshoot further. Have you ensured all sliders and knobs etc. are thoroughly lubed and cleaned ?

andyboombox - 2013-02-20 06:25

just bought some more switch cleaner today so i will be bathing it in it tonight

bison - 2013-02-20 06:33

andy put a wide angle lens on your camera and post a better pic of the sharp,

it looks like something out of star wars

Clean the headphone socket andy .....headphones in out fast about 50 times after you have sprayed the socket.....sometimes there is a little switch that gets jammed in there

Have you sorted it out yet? I just picked up a CD-X9 today and the left channel wasn't working. I kept pushing the on/off button a few times and the left channel came to life! I will probably deoxit all the switches when I have time. I have three boxes in pieces that are waiting in line lol.

sitman - 2013-04-25 18:51

Correction*** The function selector buttons were the culprit. If I push and hold them in, I'll get the full signal to both speakers.

lav.loo - 2013-04-26 03:25

sitman - 2013-04-26 08:53
