Silicone Sealant

Hi there
Does anyone know the best Silicone selant for plugging up holes and gaps in an Awia CS-880 speaker box chamber. I'm having problems with escaping air from the makeshift Passive Radiator I have and was told that I'd have better results using a selant prefably silcone. And apparently this will also help to enhance lost Bass.Anyway if you do have any ideas let me know please and also tell me of your experiences too

I don't get it Glen,

If it is a makeshift radiator and it does not fit properly, why not make a new one that does?

There is only a matter of a few cms that separate the frame from the cut out hole where the Passive sits in.
So I just need to plug the gaps where the air is escaping. You know what I mean?

You cut the speaker out

Could you have Unscrewed the Center speaker when you First got it?

Do you still have the speaker that you cut out, With the ? Material ? from the boombox that you cut this out from?

If you still have the material that may still be attached to the speaker ( that you removed from the center ) - either you must separate that material from that speaker and replace it back into the original location and then use automotive  " Bondo"

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bondo_(putty)

to build up that location to have a base to be able to re-mount your 'new' speaker into - or

You will need to build a new adapter plate from plastic or metal to mount into your box and then mount your 'new' center speaker int.

So you have a Hole Larger than the original place where the passive was ( active - in your case ) ?

You really need to show picture's of these Gap's that you speak of around your center speaker location.
