Dynasty Discolite Power Switch Fix?

oldschool1979 - 2013-05-15 08:47

Hello when I press to power it goes on for a second and thats it. If i hold down the power button and dont let go it stays on. Is there a way to fix this switch?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Im new and learning.

Thanks

The quick fix I was able to come up with that works, was i added a piece of plastic behind the switch to keep it powered on and just use a power strip to switch the unit on and off. That is what I am doing until something else can be done.

The switch may or may not be repairable. It sounds to me that the locking mechanism that holds in on position has failed. So either the spring is issue or the plastic slide lock. Most Boomboxes with push power switches are the same switch and can be interchangeable. But you need solder skills to take old switch off and put new one on.

If you take to a tech he might be able to get new switch as I'm sure they still sell these.
