Stuck door on my JVC 838

claret.badger - 2013-05-28 16:24

Got a door at last for my JVC RC 838 - thanks mrupscale1

I put it on - by going thru the back

and at first it wouldn't shut

after a bit of "persuasion" i got it to close

now the sucker won't open

what have I done wrong?

Can you look inside the box and see how it got stuck? Did something break?

claret.badger - 2013-05-28 21:29

nothing broke

locked shut

gonna get my hammer out

hi nick ,  take the back off then remove the chassis out of the unit chances are the door release is trapped or have you done that allready  ?    if not remove the tuner board i find it easier to get the chassis out with it out of the way .

i hate taking these things apart

dog hair gets in there

and i lose my watch

and i always end up with 3 screws and two jump wires that seem orphaned

RR - My 838 is one of the best boxes I have heard

it's beaten any other boxes I have heard into a cocked hat

Lee - I hate going thru the back - things can certainly get messy

I'm gonna guess and say either the eject lock is jammed. Also does it have spring to pop it open? If no spring then pull a little on door while ejecting...
