HELP HELP HELP PIONEER SK550

breakbeatfanatik - 2013-06-13 11:07

I am in desperate need of help on this boombox. I was to do some work on it myself but was forced to take it in to a shop ( where I have had several things fixed ). The guy just told me he can not fix it. Apparently, the cassette tape is stuck on play and the door won't open. Someone on this blog had wished me good luck if this happened. Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened. Does anyone know how to fix this? Or if it is even worth the hassle? This is a bad a$$ box and sounds great but i am having trouble with the cassette. Any info would help. I am in Southern Cali ( Anaheim ) to be exact. If anyone knows a spot or if anyone lives in the area that can help, i got yall covered.

Don`t panic. It`s only the main belt that`s kaput. I don`t think, he can`t fix it. It`s just a case of, he can`t, or, he doesn`t think it`s worth his time. Unfortunately, i have been in this situation. It`s an easy fix for someone. It`ll be booming away in no time.

Righteous, thanks for the input. Hopefully I find someone that can fix it.

Ok so apparently the guy doing the work on this box says he couldn't even open the back since Pioneer decided to add 2 screws inside the cassette deck. Which in my case, cassette door is locked and won't open .  Any pointers? Is this a lost case?
