Lasonic TRC-931

Hi guys,

I need your expert advice here, please.

When I bought my Lasonic off the bay, I already knew it had a few things wrong with it but most of them were cosmetic and easy enough to fix. Some of the other issues are causing me more trouble though.

* The on/off button doesn't work; it's permanently on. Might this just be a faulty switch?

* The selector switch for radio/tape/phono has been disconnected as it apparently broke and it is has been modified by the previous owner to the guy I bought it off to  always be on radio, which is fine as the radio works perfectly. However, the tape decks still have their belts which look fine and I know the top deck still works as it constantly fast forwards or rewinds as soon as the powers on! I'd obviously like to get them working but I don't know what the guy did to the selector to fix it permanently on radio (the seller doesn't know either).

Here is a picture of the selector on the circuit board. Obviously somethings missing off it. Anyone with a Lasonic able to shed some light on what should be there?

Cheers,

Giles

Not a lasonic owner but it looks like a slide contact below that would have a runner that when it moves up and down switches between each input.  Presumably the turning of the knob above is geared to a linear movement of the slider. Has he just hot wired it to the radio?

Not sure how you'd replicate that without a part from a scrap box....unless you can fettle the wiring to a new part.

Mmm...you do need some input here from a Lasonic owner really
