Hitachi 3d superwoofer TRK3d50e radio help

Hi all

With a lot of help from Isolator/Paul's help I've managed to open the old girl up and give Servisol the switches inside, but I'm still having trouble with the radio.

FM - can get nearly the whoie band, but the indicated frequency is 2MHz higher than actual.

SW - nothing but static the whole band.

MW lower 8/10 of the band - nothing but static, then in the upper 2/10 I get some stations - will have to check which.

LW - nearly all the band has static, apart from the top when it sound more like LW static (if you catch my drift?).

I can upload a youtube video if that helps the explanation.  There is definitely a crackle on LW and MW when it switches from static only part of the waveband, to getting reception.

What do you think the problem is, is it a dodgy tuning capacitor?

When the tuning indicator is out of alignment, I detach it from the tuner string & reattach it (with a blob of superglue) in the right place. So long as you know the exact freq of the station it's tuned to, you're golden
