Vela Disco Lite Breakdance

Hi guys ....
well today i went down to my local dump shop to pick up some wood.

Out of the corner of my eye i happened to see what i thought must have been the coolest looking boombox id seen in my life.

I had no idea what it was but i knew i liked it.

It was covered in dust and had no power cord so i dug around and found one.

I asked the crusty looking guy at the shop to plug it in and to my suprize it  worked.

I just had that feeling of nostalgia when i was a kid breakdancing so i had to have it.

I asked the guy how much.

He said ...... well ........ it was going to be sold for $20 ..... but you seem to like it so you can have it for $10

Cool deal i thought ........ seems fair.

That is untill i got home and googled it and saw the crazy prices they go for !

Anyway

The machine is all there and looks pretty good after a wipe down ..... one of the red graphic EQ switches is missing

The small LED's are working but the speaker lights dont seem to be.

The do have the led's for the speakers but dont seem to be illuminating

Any suggestions on that ?

Also the radio signal is barley more than a hiss ........ i can tune in to very faint channels to see the lights flashing so i know the little leds are fully working.

I havent checked the AUX in or the tape ...... but the tape machines are running ......just not sure if they play.

Anyway ..... id like to get the speaker lights working if anyone has some suggestions.

Thanks

Oh, let's see a pic.  You should have taken a pic of it in the dump too.

Cheaply built but if you love those flashy lights like me then pretty desirable...and $10 is an absolute steal.

But as AO says, we need pics so we can appreciate the before and after difference

Sorry guys ..... ill get pics up asap
Last night i opened it up top take a look inside.

There was a LOT of cobwebs in there ........
I noticed the globes for the 4 main woofers are all intact so im  still trying to understand why they arent functioning

I hvae to be honest ...... im no expert but io am handy with a soldering iron if i know what to do.

I also noticed a fuse inside that seemed to be intact.

Ill be extatic if i can get the lights on the woofers going.....
Ive read through all the topics here but i cant seem to find any specific info on getting the lights going.
