Lucky TRC-931

thibay - 2009-09-24 14:03

As promised to blahblahblah, here are more detailed pictures of my lucky.

I guess LUCKY is the european aka for Lasonic. Right ?
She seems to be an early model too as the VU is located in the "wrong" side.

What else ? I'm sure there is a lot of TRC-931 specialists here Smile

That box sounds really really good. When I bought it I was expecting something bad as a big empty box. Nice surprise !
Everything works except the function switch.

Stop talking, here are the pics

Property of Lurkin Smile ?

thats more widely known as a first edition trc 931 ,as far as i know lucky was the parent company of lasonic, a division of the yung fu corperation ,if you look on the magnet of even the lasonic boxes you will see the lucky logo stamped on the speakers, actually thats quite a rare box being a first production run trc 931 ,i guess you got lucky when you bought that box lol.

Blah blah blah, they are just broken and fixable with epoxy glue. Anyway thank you this is very nice !!!
But if you want to help I'm missing a volume knob and a tape button for a l-90k Big Grin

blah.blah.blah - 2009-10-07 09:54

not sure what a I-90k is?? pretty sure i don't have one though!

thibay - 2009-10-08 08:14

Sorry I meant L30K, lasonic too.
The volume knob is the same as the 931 but the fixing is different.

Great box! Cool

Is that "Lurkin" name carved into the plastic (that would suck Frown ) or (hopefully) written on with a marker?

Regardless,... if you ever wanna sell it... Wink

Btw, I just noticed that your EQ sliders are upside down... Confused

thibay - 2009-10-11 14:28

Yep I guess lurkin was the previous owner.. And it's well carved into the plastic. Dude couldn't you engrave the back cover Smile?

I didn't notice the orientations of the sliders before pulling them off. I'm flipping them right now Wink

I love the color choices for the graphics.
Beautiful box.
My Lasonic function switch broke and is luckily stuck on phono so I can still play ipod.
What is your function switch stuck on?

Cheers OSS

Radio Roll Eyes Frown

thibay - 2009-10-16 02:42

He was stuck on radio but you can move it from the inside. Just move the tiny part inside the slider with an isolated screwdriver to switch between function.

This require to open the box everytime you want to change Smile

By the way I still have to extract to broken part to give it to my machinist.. I need time Frown

Ok. But those Crowns, Unisefs .... are miles away in quality, construction, weight and SOUND of a Lasonic TRC-931 and this Lucky.

brigadier.vytas - 2009-12-06 10:22

i hope so! couse, that Crown is just pieco'o'sh..My mates own one and it's big, but weight and sound quality is just funny.

thibay - 2009-12-07 01:16

Good to know unisefs and crowns are a step lower than lasonics!
Yesterday I found an unisef and a GF-777 at my local shop.. and I'm happy to have brought the sharp home Smile

brigadier.vytas - 2009-12-07 01:27

Cool congrats, mate. For how much?

thibay - 2009-12-07 12:45

75€! She was dirty but cleanable.
Right channel was dead but got it back with deoxit on volume knob. Tape2 just needed a good head clean with alcohol. And tape1 needs belts.

I'm listening to her right now and that's a wonderful box Razz I looked her for hours yesterday Smile
I'll present the beast on a separate post Wink

lil.ange - 2009-12-10 18:28

always liked the 931's
