My lil collection

brigadier.vytas - 2009-08-13 02:03

here's some pics of my boomboxes:

all 3 boxes together :

(Hitachi TRK 8020EW (on top),Hitachi TRK 8190E and Aiwa TPR-950AH ).

Aiwa and Hitachi TRK 8020EW together:

Smaller Hitachi is after heavy reconstruction, here's bigger pic:

it's repainted (i left a piece of original colour over the tape counter), the grills are new, grill rings + bonus mirror sticker around them, mirror sticker around radio window and couple of other features.

We use these booms as often as possible,we take them to outdoor parties, festivals etc. Sometimes we connect 2 boxes together. Peoples reaction is always positive, everybody say like "gimme 5, or just "wow, what a nice radio":].
All 3 boxes are working well, but Aiwa... its completely amazing boombox, the sound is just perfect even if it's oldest one (made in 1978).
Greets from Vilnius, Lithuania.

Thanks, Eddy. I'm looking for another box and i found one strange local webpage, they sell some small and used agriculture machinery, but they have there section called "used goods for tourism and recreation"Big Grin. Look what are those goods:

Any comments about german Shmid SRR 747? I know, it's a bootleg of Sharp GF 777 and next simmilar models, but what's the sound quality and how big it is? What about HGS, or Gold Star?

The Shmid is a bad copy of the GF 777 .
I would not buy it.
The HGS looks a bit like a Rising but i did not hear from this brand before.
The Goldstar is a well built blaster that has a lot of AKA's and from what i hear is a pretty loud box.
I can recommend the Hitachi TRK 7620. Not quite the oldschool look but good sound. My brother had one like this

yo yo, добрый день товарищ Big Grin

brigadier.vytas - 2009-08-15 09:09

Thank u ,guys for such positivity! Eddy, thanks allot for your info. As i see from other sources too, this GoldStar is best choise for me. Just gorgeous example from so called "golden era", maybe that's why the Star is Golden Big Grin. It's most expensive blaster on that webpage, but guys can offer nice discounts and my b-day is comming, so if my friends will ask "what do u want for your b-day?" i know the answer already Big Grin Big Grin. KBallenger, yes i spin vinyl and i'm doin it since ~2000. My girlfriend is djin also, but the thing is not so massive at all, we are maybe more vinyl collectors and enthusiasts, than very active DJs. I love independent hip-hop, reggae, some electronic stuff. My girlfriend is more into funk and disco-funk. I like mash-up style performance, i've recorded couple of mash-ups, i'm working now on couple of mixtapes. We say "real djs play vinyl" and we will always do so.
Metad ,yo:]

Big up, mates!
