Sony CFD-765L

Hello everybody,

a few days ago I made a dream come true, because I've got the boombox that I dreamed of when I was a youngster. It was expensive and back to the first 90s I couldn't afford it.

It is the Sony CDF-765L:

I think this model is odd and it's possible it was only marketed in Spain and Portugal, I only saw it once on eBay.com and it didn't work. And I think there had to be a few units sold because it's very hard to find here in Spain.

Well, the sound it's exactly like I imagined. Tom, if you are reading me, this is one of the real HiFi sound units you (and me) liked. Plenty of bass (very good bass), transparency and one of the most beautiful 90s boomboxes out there. It's a pity it doesn't include Line-In, but in my case CD still works perfectly (fingers crossed). And it cost me 35 euros (stock price was 390 euros, and I'm talking about 1990).

Regards.

Thanks, I will take it in account if I'd need a repair in the future.
So it was marketed in Canada too, and hence in USA, I suppose.

There's also another model. I own that on. I think its the cfd-770 ( I'm not at home to look at it to know the model number for sure). But it's just like the one in the picture except the tape controls are full logic control. And the lights light up orange instead of blue. There's a picture of one somewhere here on these forums. Also the speaker cabinet's house a larger woofer and a smaller tweeter.
