Picked up a beast

I found an ad on craigslist for a Panasonic RX-DT680...$26(?). Went and picked it up today, and i'm putting it through the paces... I really am not into the look, it's way too plastic and 90's, but the reviews on here really didn't lead me wrong in terms of sound. clear, crisp, bright, and the lows are LOWWWWWWWW. Definitely one of the best in terms of sound, but then that's what i would expect from a three piece with bass ports, separate power for speakers, XBS and a 5 channel EQ. Plus it has about the widest remote i've ever seen. I can't post a photo yet, my camera is busted, but it's pretty mint. Anyway, thanks guys who said it's a great stereo, you were the reason i picked it up, dispite it's fairly bland appearance.

Sit it in a corner, elevated (for a softer smoother sound) or on the floor (for a harder thumpin sound), with the s-xbs on 10, and simply be amazed at the bass this thing cranks out. You're especially right about the lows, this unit blows them out with ease. Congrats man, this is my all time favorite boombox!

Also the cd to tape recording functions are super cool. It will calculate unused space on both sides of a tape, and can even rearrange songs automatacially to try to make the cd fit on the tape.
