my new jvc

muto - 2010-07-07 13:37

Got this ugly radio today:

Very different compared to oldskool radios. Remote control is great and changing volume so easy..compared to many old super sensitive dual volume sliders.

I don't think it's ugly at all, it's form serves a purpose and it moves more air than most of the old school boxes I've heard. Congrats...

muto - i hope the powerhouse bass it puts out -
will convince you to like its looks -
also --these came in about 6 color schemes -
mine is all white --i have grown to really like and respect the big kaboom design.

muto - 2010-07-08 06:07

Heh, you all are right. It serves its purpose very well. Not really the radio to listen at low volume but very solid and nice to listen modern music.

samsnite - 2010-07-11 12:07

I thinks its not a good idea to have the kaboom near magnetic media (tapes, HDD:s etc...). I had mine on top of my 32" tube TV and the colors went all bonkers, due to the magnetic fields from the woofers... but i really love my white JVC!

lav.loo - 2010-07-11 12:41

congrats MUTO, not really my thing but it comes highly rated and is very collectabe Nod Yes i would,nt mind hearing one of them kabooms Wink

Really..... WOW! Good to know!!!!

Muto, it is the color that could be better with yours (my taste), if not... they are solid and have a good sound (and volume)!

muto - 2010-07-12 07:43

Samsnite: you are right. HD's seems to take more.. And all my game saves are on memory card so not so big loss if data is lost.

Bredgeo: i agree, grey and black looks boring.. all black would be nice.

bredgeo - 2010-07-12 10:52

transwave5000 - 2010-07-13 01:48

Saw these the other day.
The pink one is a smaller size.
But they cost too much for my 10$ per box limit Laugh Out Loud

muto - 2010-07-27 06:40

Heh, found second from a recycling center. Cd noes not work, says just "OPEN". Otherwise seems to work fine and comes with a remote control. 15euros Smile.

It's pretty dirty and i will need to fix the cd-player. Maybe i will add line-in also when it's open.

master.z - 2010-07-27 07:59

I have the same one the "MP3" and I agree, sounds great looks ugly. I'm glad I have it though. I listen to it almost every day in the mornings while I get ready for work.

muto - 2010-07-27 12:21

ooh, did not notice the second kaboom... old one without tapedeck, 15€ NICE!

cman750 - 2010-08-10 10:34

Not a ugly unit at all, the unique design creates big time bass ..it is one portable that can be compared to the vintage era 1980-1986 .
