lav.loo - 2010-08-04 13:34

i know people really hype up the m90 Nod Yes but i would take that panny over the m90 anyday Nod Yes lovely box and amazing sound im sure Wink

bredgeo - 2010-08-04 14:05

NO!!!!!!!!!! Eek

bredgeo - 2010-08-04 14:07

Yeahhhhh!!!! It does sound good, but not as good as, well... you know! Big Grin

lav.loo - 2010-08-04 14:23

stop it please...will someone please name a box that beats that ugly m90 Mad
soooooooory Big Grin

mellymelsr - 2010-08-04 14:44

I used to feel the M90 was over-hyped. I went out of my way to purchase every good sounding grail I could find. I have listened to all the big boys...S90, WF 939, 920, Big Ben, DT-680, FH7, Kaboom, RX 7700...the M90 is the best 1 piece box and has the best mids & tweets I have heard in a portable. The FH7 will crush it on power and richness but I believe the M90 hype now that I have one!!

lav.loo - 2010-08-04 15:11

ok MELLY you love the m90, im not knocking it No No i just can,t get my head round it,s popularity, i think like most jvc,s it,s looks fail it miserably, to me it would be a box for sound and not looks, what im saying is i would never have it as a show piece, but i would have it to bang out tunes, and that,s all, after seeing and hearing one, i can honestly say i was,nt massively impressed, especially with it,s looks Wink

peter.griffin - 2010-08-04 16:36

Cool Tower Bredgeo, that's how I set them up in my living room. Never realized how small that Panasonic was. I remember them from the stores when I was a kid. Thought they were waaaay biggerSmile

bredgeo - 2010-08-04 23:55

Hummmm.... That beats the M90?

Hummmm.... Confused.... Nope! Does not exist!
Wink

Yeah, it is not too massive, just enough!

You got a GF503 as well??? Cool!

Did you get it from Japan as well?

bredgeo - 2010-08-05 03:12

Find one..... Big Grin (single unit)

peter.griffin - 2010-08-05 05:10

Hey Bredgeo, not a tower like yours. But a tower of my "faves".

in my opinion the sanyo mx920 below is a better box, not as loud as the m90 but still a powerful great sounding all round box, and it kills the m90 in looks hands down Nod Yes it also has better quality switch gear and dials than the m90 and has the full chrome front, unlike the plastic m90 Wink

bredgeo - 2010-08-05 05:50

Ah, yes!

Myself, the only reason I have a tower is 'cause I don't have room to put them individually... Frown

But I like my tower!

bredgeo - 2010-08-05 05:53

Lav.... I think you have one that looks (is refined) better than the M90... but I am not sure about the sound!

But it is good that you are trying, yes it is!

lav.loo - 2010-08-05 05:58

i think i would have to own an m90 to give it the credit it probably deserves, we all have our favourites and jvc have never really appealed to me, after owning the m70 and m80, i think it,s the look of them that puts me off, cos i thought the m70 and m80 had very good sound Nod Yes
the m90 i have seen is not in good condition and to be honest the woofers was a bit rough looking, if i was to hear and see a better example, maybe i would think differently??
but it would never be a grail to me purely because of the styling Wink

bredgeo - 2010-08-05 06:43

That is one thing that is true... the styling, not the best on most JVCs.

The M80 is crap (for example).

eddy - 2010-08-05 07:51

Oy Lav . I guess you never heard a decent working M 90 before.
When i shot this clip , i could compare the sound of a few boxes directly. Nothing i own comes close to the overall clarity of sound of the M 90. I know the looks of a 777 are awesome but the sound lets it down
I know the M 90 gets hyped and i couldn't plug the thing to the mains fast enough to finally hear it for myself when i finally got one.
I will NEVER part with my M 90

lav.loo - 2010-08-05 08:49

EDDY i think the m90 has built up a reputation now from back in the day, i do think there,s better boxes out there, but in a sense it is hard to say what is better because all boxes have something better or different than others.
i know it,s a lot of peoples favourite box, but not mine No No in all honesty i would rather have a conion c100f any day Wink

eddy - 2010-08-05 08:54

I have the Clairtone version and yes , it looks awesome , but this one is powered by these crappy HA 1392 amp chips. These are letting the box down as the M 90 has proper BTL amp chips
Furthermore , everyone has his taste of boomboxes.

Excuse me!!!!! Tap Toes

eddy - 2010-08-05 09:38

Yep , i was amazed to see these turn up in the schematic . There's 2 of them in the thing. They are bridged so the Conions out put is a bit more than 7 W RMS / channel

lav.loo - 2010-08-05 09:48

i have no doubt the m90 has top quality components inside, after hearing so much positivity about them, i think im warming a bit, maybe ile go for one one day, when i win the lottery Laugh Out Loud Wink

peter.griffin - 2010-08-05 10:35

Eddy, I think I mentioned this before, years back. My buddy in high school had the clairtone 7980(same as Conion C100F)and I had my M90. We had a "sound-off". The M90 blew it away. Your amp parts tell me whySmile

bredgeo - 2010-08-05 10:42

Massive!!!!! Big Grin

Could I get one? Chip, that is! Roll Eyes

I Agree completely. The Conion /Clairtone is all about bling bling but i did a sound comparison too . The Clairtone is no match for the M90. And Lav , you got to have the coin for a C 100 too mate. These also don't come cheap

eddy - 2010-08-06 11:03

Oy Brian , now that you're messing about in the GF 9595 it may be worth it to put some JVC amp chips in it. It would be the GF 9595 from hell Eek

i know they sell for silly money Nod Yes

im.out.of.hear - 2010-08-06 12:51

I always feel rather awkward talking about what i like and what i dont like..having worked on an M90,i'm with you guys, they are a top solid built box,and it sounds really good, but yes lav,on the other hand i dont like the looks that much either, there is alot of other boxes out there that i would much rather own,the M90 has never been on my want list..oh yess,i think the GF999 will easily keep up with the M90,the GF999 is alot Louder than the 777,Lots more bass than the 777..i love love love the 999 !!

lav.loo - 2010-08-06 13:31

well them 999,s must boom G,MAN cos the 777,s are loud bassy boxes Wink

That more like it, that's the spirit Eddy!!! Big Grin

im.out.of.hear - 2010-08-08 02:07

Ahh but if you put jvc amp chips in,you will probebly have to replace the speakers too,the origonal sharp speakers can barely take the power as it is.. Nod Yes
