Here are two new Philips radios i got my hands on!

D 8110 :

Gotta love this design! The cassette deck door is awesome! Found this at the flea, good condition!

D 8514 : "Powerplay Machine"

This one was a real jackpot, found it at the local dump site laying on top of the pile of junk electronics! And man it was D.I.R.R.T.Y.!!! Thought it was really damaged and not working but hey presto! After a little and a little more cleaning there was a gem lying under the filth! Not as much as a few minor scratches and a worn out operation knob, it is in very good condition! Wow, even the tape deck works and was surprisingly clean!

This unit has some good bassy sound, and it is packed with features, line in, phono in, ext speakers, ext mics, ext antenna... Love them graphics on top.

And the best part is that it cost me nothing! rofl

Too bad radios like this is going in the bin...

Thanks guys, seems like my luck has finally turned... Big Grin The whole year it has been VERY few radios for sale...

Naah, dont move to Finland, it is very dark and miserable here. And expensive too.

I can not imagine how many good radios goes to the dump, a lot of them im sure. But one thing i know is that computers a few years old are thrown out... what a waste

These are prolly european model releases only. Philips was a really really big brand here in Finland in the 70s-80s-90s.

Hi there!

I'm JC Linde, writing from Copenhagen, Denmark. I can see that you have a Philips D-8514 ghettoblaster........and was wondering if you perhaps would sell it to me for maybe 200 US dollars!!!?? If you're interested, please contact me on Facebook or on my regular e-mail (jchr@image.dk).......thanks!!

Those are nice units...look circa 1981-4 ?  One does not see the Philips brand here in the States very often.  It's interesting, Philips bought Magnavox Electronis in the mid 1970s, and of course we do see lots of those early 80s three front speaker Magnavox's.

I just bought a Magnavox model 696 from 1980 which I'm trying to find some details on. One of these just sold on Ebay for close to $300 which seems insane.
