Telefunken HP 800.

ford93 - 2008-10-14 20:28

Well she arrived this morning safe from Germany I'm so surprised the speakers survived. She needs a little cleaning and some Deoxit for the power switch which is stuck and check the cassette deck. Smile

Congrats Juan! Big Grin Why can't I get a Telefunken that works?!?!? Mad Laugh Out Loud Laugh Out Loud

ford93 - 2008-10-14 20:41

Man I know it must be frustrating to get that Studio 1m up and running, who knows mine could be a lemon too. Frown

ford93 - 2008-10-15 07:33

Thanks guys once she's cleaned up and 100% functional I'll post some better pics.

Nice Funken Ford. Please let us know how it sounds. There's a guy near me selling a "black" one like that, but he want 120. I didn't think it was worth it. Let us know what you think of it.

Thanks.

ford93 - 2008-10-16 14:04

Hey, peter griffin the Telefunken HP 800 is a beautiful radio and has quality.

I consider it a lounge box at low volume she sounds beautiful especially when you press the extra bass. If you start to raise the volume she distorts not too bad but not good.

Try to get the guy to drop a little on the price. Trust me you'll want this box get it! I'm happy with mine she's no M-90 but at low volume she sounds delicious. Nod Yes

Congrats on your new baby!!!
Good to see she showed in one piece.
The deck on this box is a pain in the arse to work on
but not impossible.
Is yours a domestic model or will it run on 115 volts.
If not , what are you powering her with????

ford93 - 2008-10-16 21:52

Hey, TA no not domestic I'm using Radio Shack 40W Reverse-Voltage Converter. Upon checking the Tape Deck the belts were mangled so I'm not sure where to install the new belts. I got a tip from Ramon so I hope I can trouble shoot this myself. Lots of screws but thats German quality for longevity. I got to tell you I love the looks of this box so I'm glad I have one. Cool

ford93 - 2008-10-17 06:36

TA you wouldn't happen to have a pic. of the cassette deck so I can orient myself where the belts go?

jlf - 2008-10-17 07:48

Ford... stunning!!!

Congrats!

ford93 - 2008-10-17 10:31

Thanks JLF she up and running now my step father had some new belts which a technician gave him. He had his Kenwood tape deck serviced and the tech gave him extra belts brand new still in the bag. They fit well with the Telefunken and I'm able to play and hear the tape deck which sounds awesome.

The Telefunken's bass is deeper than the M 90 , Tim , but the M 90 is wayyyy louder.
I like the Telefunken very much.
A perfect box to be used every day

masterblaster - 2008-10-18 09:19

Hi Ford93-Nice Telefunken!
I'm looking at obtaining a Telefunken in the not to distast future.
Nice box!
Were the belts hard to do?
I'm glad that you got all running.
Have a great one-Ghettoboom777. Smile

ford93 - 2008-10-22 10:56

The belts were incredibly easy just alot of screws to reach the tape deck. Eek
